Islam and International Relations (IR): why is there no Islamic IR theory?

International Relations (IR) as an academic discipline is relatively new and almost entirely dominated by Western sources of knowledge. Its biased nature undermines its capacity to understand, explain predict events in the non-Western part world. With increasing effort explore IR diversify knowledge discipline, Islam has emerged essential source interest, not necessarily a reflection East–West dichotomy or versus discourse, but rather approach that own rules, concepts perspectives on IR. In this sense, article contributes discussions interaction between It critically engages with three levels discourse: first, Islam; second, contemporary IR; and, third, theory paradigm. The paper attempts address question why there are no modern Islamic theories exploring reasons related Muslims well current system hegemony. concludes introducing initial model two paths (traditional revolutionary) might help mitigate situation future.
